Cookies Policy Information on the use of cookies

If you have an account and log in to this site, a temporary cookie will be set to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is deleted when you close your browser. When you log in, several cookies will be set to save your login information and your screen display options. Login cookies last for two days and screen options cookies last for one year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. The user can express his consent to the use of cookies by continuing to browse the site, or by performing a scrolling action, by clicking on one of the internal links of the site pages, at each first access to the site.

What are cookies?

The cookies are strings of small size text that a Web site can send while browsing, to your device (be it a PC, a notebook, a smartphone, or a tablet, and are usually stored directly on the browser used for browsing). The same website that sent them can then read and record the cookies that are on the same device to obtain various types of information. Which? For each type of cookie, there is a well-defined role.

How can I avoid cookies?

You can disable third-party personalized advertising cookies (however, keep in mind that you will continue to receive online advertising). For more information or to disable the use of such personalized third-party advertising cookies in the EU, visit the website:  http://www.youronlinechoices.com/it/

You can avoid certain cookies by configuring your browser settings or by directly deactivating the part that manages and controls cookies. Check your browser settings for more detailed information. By browsing anonymously, all cookies will be deleted by closing the browser.

How many types of cookies are there?

There are two basic macro-categories, with different features: cookie technical and cookie profiling The cookie technicians are generally required for the proper functioning of the website and to allow navigation; without them, you may not be able to view the pages correctly or use some services. For example, a technical cookie is essential to keep the user connected throughout the visit to a website or to memorize the language settings, the display, and so on.

The cookie technicians can be further divided into:

  • navigation cookies, which guarantee the normal navigation and use of the website (allowing, for example, to make a purchase or authenticate to access restricted areas);
  • analytics cookies, similar to technical cookies only when used directly by the site manager to collect information, in aggregate form, on the number of users and how they visit the site.
  • functionality cookies, which allow the user to browse according to a series of selected criteria (for example, the language, the products selected for purchase) in order to improve the service provided.

The cookie profiling is more sophisticated! These cookies have the task of profiling the user and are used in order to send advertising messages in line with the preferences expressed by the user while browsing.

The cookies can still be classified as:

  • session cookies, which are deleted immediately when the browser is closed;
  • persistent cookies, which – unlike session cookies – remain in the browser for a certain period of time. They are used, for example, to recognize the device that connects to the site, facilitating authentication operations for the user.
  • cookie of the first part ( first part cookie) that is cookie-generated and managed directly from the website of the managing entity to which the user is browsing.
  • third-party cookies ( third-party cookies ) are generated and managed by parties other than the operator of the website on which the user is browsing (by virtue, as a rule, of a contract between the website owner and Part Three).
